Many bus passengers were killed earlier today at a Gombe bus station when three suspected Boko Haram militants stormed the station. According to witnesses, 3 men entered the Gombe State-owned station early Friday morning and dropped a bag among the buses. Gombe’s police chief Abdullahi Kudu said the blasts went off around 9:00 am (0800 GMT) and that three men had been arrested. He further said that the suspects hailed from Yobe where Boko Haram is dorminant. Gombe State Police commissioner Kudu Nma also briefed reporters on the explosions. “A vehicle which was suspected to have carried the bombers who came in with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) was recovered. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, October 30, 2014 arraigned an undergraduate of the University of Benin, Kenneth Rukewe Ebule before Justice E. F Ikponmwen of an Edo State High Court, sitting in Benin- City on a 6- count charge bordering on forgery, obtaining money by false pretence and possession of fraudulent documents. The accused person allegedly duped Sabine Albert, a German, of the sum of $12, 088, 75 through fraudulent claims. Rukewe, 30, a final year student of Computer and Statistics at the University of Benin, was arrested by officials of a new generation bank on May 28, 2014 in Benin City and handed over to the EFCC for further investigation. Five final year students of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, have designed and fabricated a formula student race car as a passing out project. The students are Okoyenta Augustus, Okeke Chukwuebuka, Ezeani Chikeluba‎, Ofoegbu Kenechukwu, and Igbokwe Ebenezer. The car was designed under the supervision of Dr. S C Nwigbo. The project took about a year and six months to complete, with the students working under severe condition in regards to power supply, poor machinery and attending lectures. There was tension and anxiety at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, yesterday  over the arrival of a Nigerian, who contracted Ebola Virus Disease in Sierra Leone, but was cured arrived at the airport aboard Royal Air Maroc, after reportedly being assisted into the country by the Nigeria’s consular officer, Mrs. T. Mohammed. The victim identified as Mr. Theophilus Onnakhinon, who reportedly flew from Sierra Leone, has a younger brother, Mr. Chinedu Eroka, who reportedly escaped from the Sierra Leonean authorities. Although the reason for his younger brother’s absconding is not known, a source at the Port Health at the Lagos Airport confirmed that Mr. Onnakhinon was treated and cured of the Ebola disease in Sierra Leone by the health authorities after spending weeks in their custody.

The National Working Committee (NWC) yesterday, October 29, advised Ondo Governor Olusegun Mimiko to respect Labour Party (LP) constitution and resign from office within 21 days. Hundreds of Nigerian soldiers are reportedly leaving the town of Mubi in Adamawa State, as members of the terrorists group, Boko Haram make advances to take over the town. Daily Trust reports that residents, who made the information available to them, said they heard artillery gun fires... Two suspected cultists, who are students of Yaba College of Technology, have been nabbed for threatening to kill their lecturer, Mrs Abraham Ibe. The pair, 24-year-old Tayo Ogunyomi and 28-year-old Kehinde Olaoye, appeared before a Chief Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Yaba, Lagos on Tuesday, 28 October. The offences were committed on 16 October at 9 pm on the school campus. According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Rita Momah, the accused had been earlier caught cheating during a recent examination conducted in the school, adding that the students sent text messages to the phone of their lecturer, threatening to kill her. Momah said, “They sent text messages to Mrs Ibe stating that they were ‘Axe men’ and members of the Aye confraternity, a secret society. Autopsy Result For TB Joshua’s Church Collapse Victims Released By Pathologist In Court During Hearing Revealed They Were Crushed To Death A consultant pathologist and chief medical examiner of Lagos state, Prof. John Obafunwa, today disclosed that the 116 victims of the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN) died as a result of crush injuries. Obafunwa disclosed this while presenting a preliminary report to the coroner’s inquest which was set up to investigate the cause of the incident. The pathologist said the autopsy conducted on the bodies revealed that they died as a result of crush injuries also known as “traumatic rhabdomyolysis”. She said her inability to conceived caused her marriage problem. Adenike said she had sought both medical and spiritual help before she noticed that she was pregnant back in 2009. Wizkid who was in Nairobi in Kenya over the weekend to shoot a video and also had one or two shows was actually arrested at Nairobi Crown Plaza, a non-smoking hotel where he was lodged. A Nairobian website which gave account of the scene reports that, the Nigerian star was arrested when he was about checking out of the hotel after it was discovered he had smoked an illegal substance- weed. The hotel manager questioned him about the illegal act, which made them have a hot argument, before the hotel security men called in the police. Victoria Kimani who had been visiting him in his hotel room was also there to help him check out and witnessed the whole scenario. When the police came, they insisted he will have to follow them to their station; Capital Hill Police Station after they handcuffed him. A 28- year-old man known as Abiodun Ojedokun, was on Monday sentenced to six days of community service by a Somolu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for stealing a large pot of soup, NAN reports. The accused was arraigned on a three count- charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing before Magistrate, Mrs. Bola Osunsanmi. ASP Akinlabi Adegoke, the police prosecutor told the court that Ojedokun, whose address is unknown, on September 20 at 2.00am at the Onipanu Model Market in Somolu, Lagos State, connived with some others, now at large and broke into one Mrs. Gbadamosi Sanni’s shop. The prosecutor said the accused broke the locks and stole the woman’s large pot of soup, valued at N8, 000. Adegoke informed the court that the offences were contrary to Sections 285, 308 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Ojedokun pleaded guilty to all the charges preferred against him and asked the court for leniency, claiming that he committed the offence because he was starving. D
