Photos: Nigerian Guy Adewale Adewole Jailed In UK For Match.com Dating Scam
A middle aged UK-based Nigerian guy has been jailed for duping several women on an online dating site.
Adewale Adewole pictured above used the photo of an innocent man to create different profiles on Match.com. He then used the fake profiles to dupe several unsuspecting women to the tune of £100,000 to help fund a non-existent Nigerian orphanage.
The suspect living on Carrfield Avenue in Little Hulton, Salford allegedly backed up his fake Match.com profiles with several Facebook accounts.
Before being caught, Adewale promised to repay his victims.
The 31-year-old alleged fraudster was sentenced to 4-years and 6 months in prison today at a Manchester Crown Court.
According to Greater Manchester Police officials, Adewale Adewole also created a fake charity website supporting an orphanage and listed names of 2 fake directors on it.
He then used one of the names, along with a photo of an unconnected, innocent man, to create profiles on the dating website.
