NEWS: Teacher Stabs Female Student in Adamawa
Authorities of Government Day Secondary School, Yola, Adamawa State, on Thursday shut the school indefinitely after a teacher stabbed a female pupil of the school with knife by one.
It was gathered that the teacher, simply called Mr Babbal, and a Senior Secondary 2 student, Zainab Adamu, had a misunderstanding over an issue that had yet to be ascertained...
The teacher allegedly brought out a knife with which he stabbed the student in different places.
The attack was said to have angered other students, who allegedly descended on the teacher, beating him to a pulp before he was rescued.
An eyewitness said the intervention of the Policemen from the Divisional Police Station, Wuro Hausa, Yola, saved the teacher from the rampaging students.
Babbal was said to have been arrested while other teachers in the school were invited for questioning.
As of the time of writing this report, the injured pupil was said to be responding to treatment at the Federal Medical Centre. Yola.
In another development, the Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a nurse with the Specialist Hospital, Yola, and another woman in connection with the missing of a day old baby in the hospital.
It was gathered that the mother of the child had invited a relation to help her take care of the baby in the hospital while she attended to other matters.
Our correspondent learnt that when the mother returned to her ward, the woman and the baby could not be found.
